Job Application Scenario
You just completed NPTI's 500-hour / 6-month program and you are interviewing for your first job as a personal trainer position with the Greenwood Athletic Club.
Two other people apply for the same job ("competition") 1.) a person who paid $199 and sat for a "weekend" 16-hour course taught by a part-time teacher (moonlighting as an educator), and 2.) a person who studied in their basement apartment, plowed through an on-line, open book test (with help from Uncle Bob) and had no hands-on training.
Your competition proudly displays their "certificate."
You, however show your potential new employer your NPTI portfolio complete with a resume, brochure, and a detailed explanation of the 500 hours of intensive education you had in exercise science, diet, nutrition, program design, personal training policy & procedure, anatomy, physiology, functional training, strength training, kinesiology, and more.
Your competition shows their one "certificate" again.
You, show your NPTI Colorado Diploma (endorsed by Colorado Governor's Council for Physical Fitness), your NSCA - Certified Personal Trainer certification, your CPR / AED certification, and your NASN Sports Nutritionist certification. You explain how you already have a subscription to PTontheNet, you've completed their "Personal Training Steps to Success" series and you're already planning to attend NPTI's "Group Instructor" CEU course as your next step to rounding out your education, and you regularly use eFitnessTracker for client assessments, have three boot camp business ideas, and a complete personal trainer starter kit with a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, goniometer, stop watch, and heart rate monitor.
Your competition says, "what's a goniometer?".
You, gladly accept the job that you've just been offered and prepare to begin training three new clients on Monday and it's suddenly crystal clear WHY you picked NPTI Colorado to begin your personal training career!
