Training Program
Our 500 hour comprehensive course contains 300
hours of classroom teaching, plus 200 hours of
supervised, hands-on fitness center instruction and actual
individual, program design. You'll learn the latest techniques,
tools, and program designs using free weights, fit balls,
plyometrics, cardiovascular and selectorized equipment such that
your clients KNOW the programs you offer are safe, progressive,
results oriented, and exciting.
100 Hours Theory, Business, Sales & Marketing
- Legal and ethical guidelines
- Business management (e.g. Sales & Marketing)
- Client evaluations and fitness assessment
- Program design
- Starting your own business
- Facility, product, and individual trainer insurance
100 Hours Nutrition
- Foods, fads, & Myths
- Habits & beliefs
- Carbohydrates, fats, & proteins
- Vitamins & minerals
- Energy systems
- The legal issue of recommending diets and nutrition
100 Hours Anatomy & Physiology
- Anatomy and biomechanics
- Physiology
- Cells, Tissues, and Muscles
- Anatomical positions of the body
- Kinesiology and all body systems:
- Skeletal, Muscular, Pulmonary, Nervous, and Cardiovascular
systems
200 Hours Supervised Fitness Center Time
- Introduction to fitness centers, program design, fitness
classes, commercial vs. "home gym" equipment, etc.
- Learn proper spotting, lifting, and recovery techniques
- Learn the proper use of free weights, fit balls, selectorized
equipment, fitness center standards and guidelines
- One-on-one time with your classmates who may vary in age from
18 to 70 and may be a bodybuilder or a person who has never
worked out before . much like your client base may be when
you become a personal trainer!
