Personal Trainer School Schedule for NPTI 2010-2011

The National Personal Training Institute of Colorado offers multiple class schedules to meet the needs of our students.

NPTI Colorado Schedule for 2010 - 2011

NPTI Colorado Class Times

Lakewood Campus

Monday – Thursday
-Day Class - 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
-Evening Class – 5:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.

Colorado Springs Campus

Monday – Thursday
-Day Class - 9:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
-Evening Class – 5:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.

Class Start / End Dates (both Lakewood and Colorado Springs campuses)
(All classes begin on a Monday (weekdays) or a Saturday (weekends):

Weekdays
-Session #1 / February 1, 2010 through July 30, 2010
-Session #2 / May 17, 2010 through November 12, 2010
-Session #3 / August 2, 2010 through February 4, 2011
-Session #4 / November 15, 2010 through May 20, 2011

Weekends (no new classes will be enrolled on the weekend until 2011)
-Session #3w / (Dates to be determined)

[NOTE: Late starts: New students may start as late as the end of the first week. Missed time must be made up on Friday of the first week. All missed class time for late students must be made up on this late student make-up day ].

Class Hours (Total class / home study time is 600 hours):

Classroom / lecture time: 332 hours
*Practical / hands-on time: 200 hours
*On-line course work: 68 hours

TOTAL: 600 hours

NOTES:

1. On-line elective course work includes four (4) all-day Friday review days (schedule to be determined). Noted class time does not include homework or special projects (estimated to be 15 – 20 hours per week with 1 – 12 weeks due date / lead times).

2. Elective subject matter includes:

  a.) Training older adults
  b.) Corrective & rehabilitative training
  c.) Tactical & performance training
  d.) “Group X” training
  e.) Diet & nutrition consultant

3. Elective content / specialty areas are subject to change. Electives prepare the successful participant to specialize and to acquire a nationally recognized certification (e.g. American Council on Exercise (ACE) “Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant” (LWMC)).

4. 200 hours of practical time refers to “dedicated” practical time. Additional practical, program (hands-on) time is expected as applicable to mastering the subject matter e.g. Group X includes Heart Zones ® indoor cycling or KickFit® kickboxing class time ].
